On your phone or on your home entertainment centre.

We are guessing that as the exponential screws turn on the technological turbine that my satellite televiewing bill will dwindle if not disappear completely.

We are getting closer and closer to a singularity in streaming video that already makes it possible to screw your iPhone and iPad into your killer 55 inch (why do we still measure screens in inches when we measure everything else in multiples of 10, BTW?) Samsung LED living room water cooler.

This weekend I downloaded the BBC iPlayer onto my iPhone (you’ll need IOS5 kiddos) and wow. Visions of Red Dwarf, Dr. Who, killer docs, sugarplum fairies and EURO 2012 came bouncing across my screen.

Yes, there is subscribable – read monetarily driven – content on the player, but if you’re interested in perusing some classic british comedy or news or sports for free? The iPlayer from BBC is your man, man.

We are contemplating downsizing our bundled Bell bill already. We have been paying an inordinate amount for television over the last several years and it’s time to disimbibe from the “57 channels and nothin’s on” template. (Solid shout to Bruce Springsteen.)

If you have IOS 5 on your cellphone or iPad? The BBC player app is free.

We’ve attached some information about PC access below. It’s all available including some solid FAQ’s and talking points on their website.
