Guided Frost Centre Hike!
June 18 2012

Hiking the Frost Centre! Our Monday June 18th Hike is going to feature the Frost Centre Trails. This exciting hike is going to be about 6 km long and will be a bit more challenging than our other hikes due to length and varying terrain. It takes about 3.5 hours from start to finish, including a stop for lunch on the trail. This is a naturalist’s dream as we go through several different types of forest, explore the geomorphology of the area, walk along cliffs by the lake, and discover the plethora of flora and fauna. We will be meeting at the main Frost Centre parking lot at 10:00 a.m. There is no parking fee and trail use is by donation. There will be a $10 guide fee. Sturdy footwear is highly recommended and strong bug repellent as well. Bring your lunch/snacks, water bottle, sunscreen, and hat, and there is a spot for a swim as well if you like. The Frost Centre is located on Highway 35 approximately 25 km north of Carnarvon or 10 km south of Dorset. Parking and the trailhead are located at the facility’s southern entrance next to the lakeshore.
