Haliburton Man Charged with Impaired Driving

Stopped for insecure load driver flipped for DUI

 Saturday, May 26 at approximately 8:30pm, officers of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), stopped a vehicle on Peninsula Road, near County Road 21.

Officers were initially concerned about an insecure load the vehicle was hauling.

At the traffic stop, officers determined that the driver of the vehicle had been consuming alcohol.

William Tripp, 51 years of Haliburton, has been charged with Impaired Driving and driving over 80mgs.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden, on July 4th, 2012 to deal with these charges.
