OPP stalwart, Val Jarvis calls it a day

Haliburton OPP member retires after 30 years on the job

By Terrance Gavan

A police officer extraordinaire.

Val Jarvis would shrug at that honorific. She’s probably just laugh and say: “I just did my job.”

And she did. Very well. Jarvis was feted last weekend at the Haliburton Legion.

On a Saturday night Jarvis’s friends, family, fellow officers, husband and the community of Haliburton Highlands showed up in force to bid farewell to a unique woman.

Above is a pictorial of the night.

Congratulations to OPP Cst Val Jarvis for a larger than life career in law enforcement.
