Motorcyclist dies on Hwy 28 in Highlands East

(Bancroft, Ontario) – At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday the 06th of April, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a motorcycle collision on Highway 28 south in the Municipality of Highlands East.  Investigation revealed that the Suzuki motorcycle was travelling north on Highway 28, and the driver was ejected from the motorcycle.  The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The male driver of the motorcycle, 28 year old Ian Ritchie of Petawawa, Ontario was transported to Quinte Health care North Hastings by ambulance with major injuries.  Mr. Ritchie was later transported toKingston General Hospital by air ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
