Minden man, Ryan Kennedy dies in violent break and enter

Home invasion in Minden leaves one person dead.

Police, fire and paramedics responded Wednesday night ( Oct 19) to a fatal break and enter east of Minden.

The deceased has been identified as Ryan Kennedy, 21, of Minden, Ontario.  Another male was injured during the attack, which is being described by police as a “violent break and enter.”

The home is located at 1028 South Lake Rd.

Both victims were found bound by duct tape. The perpetrator(s) had fled the scene by the time OPP arrived at the house.

Paramedics were called to the scene at around 11:42 p.m. and transported two men to hospital. One young man was pronouced dead at hospital.

Ontario Provincial Police on Thursday morning reported that the investigation is now underway and they could not confirm details yet.

This investigation is continuing under the direction of Detective Inspector Colleen McCormick of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with the assistance of the City of Kawartha Lakes– Haliburton Highlands OPP Criminal Investigations Unit.
