OPP Kawartha – Hit and run victim taken by air to St. Mikes

 (CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.)– The City ofKawartha Lakes OPP are continuing to investigate an incident that resulted in a 55 year old female sustaining life threatening injuries.

OPP investigating hit and run.

On Wednesday the 10th of  August 2011 at approximately 12:30 a.m. the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP were called toPleasant Point Road and Leslie Frost Road in the formerTownship ofFenelon, City ofKawartha Lakes.  At the scene was a female that had sustained injuries that were consistent with being hit by a motor vehicle.

Pleasant Point Roadwas closed as OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) as well as an OPP Forensic Identification Unit conducted their investigation.  The road was reopened 9 hours later.

The female was transported to Ross Memorial Hospital by ambulance and later transported to St. Michael’s hospital by air ambulance.

The investigation is continuing into the cause of the female’s injuries and the events that led up to it.
