No day in court.

And there won’t be.

For Douglas Ralph Bronson.

One of the major side affects of the sex trade is sudden death.

Of the accused. Sadly the victims die slowly. Years of abuse followed by decades of therapy. And sometimes they go as quickly as Mr. Bronson there. With that bright smile.

There’s a cure for such things. Called abstinence.

Bringing the inevitable question.

Is sudden death or suicide an admission of guilt?

Probably not. The police will sift the evidence and decide whether or not Mr. Bronson was indeed collecting kiddie porn for nefarious purpose. Or for study and research. Yes. That was facetious.

I applaud those kiddie porn addicts and diddlers for thinning the herd. I often wonder why very few Catholic priests convicted of molestation take this route. I imagine it’s got something to do with the strict Catholic laws regarding the taking of one’s own life. You can’t be buried in ¬†Catholic cemetery if you pop a cap into your noggin.

And I guess this leads us to another question. Harder one. Can these convicted kiddie diddlers be buried in a Catholic cemetery for the crime of child molestation and possessing kiddie porn?

I’d like to know.

Nope. On second thought I don’t want to know.

I fear the answer would just piss me off.

Here’s an excerpt from Kawartha News about Bronson. You will note that his former colleagues are still sifting clues. Re the cause of his death. All we know is.

Mr. Bronson will not be in the dock when they decide his fate. Perversely – and I am a compassionate human being – I couldn’t fecking care less.

I see the words ¬†“thumb drive with kiddy porn” and my mind goes into La-La land Derfcon 5. Is that the high end or the low end? I can never remember if Def Con acts like golf or like basketball?

Anyway you get the picture knuckleheads. Oh and make up your own mind about Mr. Bronson. We’ll say a wee Irish blessing for him tonite. “May ye be a half-hour in heaven before the divil knows you’re dead.”

I fear that Lucifer already had Mr. Bronson hog-tied and wrapped long before what happened … happened. But we’ll say it anyway.

This Week has confirmed a former Peterborough-Lakefield police detective facing child luring-related charges was found dead in his Peterborough home Friday (July 29).

There is no confirmation of what caused his death.

Douglas Ralph Bronson, 51, was arrested Tuesday (July 26) in Durham Region.

He faced charges of luring a child via a computer — sexual exploitation (adult) and invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age.

A search was performed at a Peterborough home and thumb drives, hard disks and other items were seized.

Mr. Bronson was a police officer with the Peterborough-Lakefield Police Service from 1984 to 1998.

He resigned from the city police service in 1998 after a conviction under the Police Services Act on charges of discreditable conduct and neglect of duty.

Mr. Bronson later served as a sergeant with the Temiskaming Shores Police Service from June 2001 to March 2006.

OPP are asking that anyone who had any dealings with Mr. Bronson contact the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Section at 705-330-3240.

One other’ ting peeps.

Do give a call if you know anything at all.

Just to clear the decks. Yours and theirs.
