An intro with Paul Watson’s new doc forming a no segue intervention
Cuppa Joe Simonsky – in Vancouver
I was sea kayaking in a pod of whales yesterday.
The spray and the foam and the misty reminiscences hang with me today.
Majestic forms slipping underneath our kayaks and some truly wild and wonderful moments where large humpbacks roll and glisten in a sun-filled sky wit a sea as calm and tranquil as a chapel at midnight.
I heard Paul Watson on Jian Ghomeshi this week.
And it moved me to action. I know some guys who know guys and I had my kayak booked and ready within 24 hours of the call.
There’s a new doc out on Watson and I urge you all to go see it.
Ten long years the producer spent filming Watson; and the inured and endearing image, now more icon than legend hearkens some Ahab shit. The man is humorless and hollow. But he’s inconsolably dedicated.
He’s an anachronism eschewing the twittering class for hard action. He’ll be out again this year harassing the Japanese fleet and knocking down their catch tremendously.
He’s a trailblazer. Catch this doc. It’s worth it.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
