Boat hits Pancake Island in Lake of Bays

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police, (OPP) Huntsville Detachment, are investigating a fatal boating collision which occurred on Lake of Bays, July 10th, 2011 at approximately3:15am.

It appears that the vessel struck Pancake Island in Lake of Bays.  One person has been confirmed deceased.  Two other persons were taken to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The operator of the vessel at the time of the collision, has been arrested, and is in custody awaiting a Bail Hearing on Monday, July 11th, 2011.
