Interesting post on CBS sports blog regarding Matty Duchene’s Colorado Avalanche.

“Colorado Avalanche: The Avs will be one busy team in the upcoming days. It will likely start with finding their next goalie and they seem to be the runaway favorite to pull in Tomas Vokoun. They will have a lot of money to spend (and it started with re- signing defenseman Ryan O’Byrne) and so they will likely be in on some of the bigger names available. They would like to find some experienced players like Ed Jovanovski to help mentor the young guns. Cap flexibility will likely be kept, though, as 10 of their forwards will be free agents next year, including Matt Duchene.”

We are pretty sure that the Avs are relying heavily on Matt Duchene going forward. They just signed David Jones and if they’re smart they’ll start locking in that young talent base sooner rather than later.

The Avs are a team on the verge of restoring the patina of those Joe Sakic and Patrick Roy salad days. Daze? And no we will for the record clarify here and now that Vokoun is no Patrick Roy.

But who the hell is? Or was?

The video rocks. Thanks to my buddy Cuppa Joe Simonsky for forwarding it to me.

Cuppa Joe is sending something right now and we;re hoping it does not include vestments, Crucifixion imagery, big hats or an old man in white robes tweeting from the Vatican.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
