Close game. But Hal High junior girls fell just shy of a berth in Kawartha Soccer finals. Photo by Terrance Gavan.

And really no better tribute for a young team.

The Hal High junior girls jumped into an early 1-0 lead against the visiting and favored St. Mary’s Secondary in the Kawartha League semi-final.

St. Mary’s battled back to knot the score at 1-1 just before time expired in the opening half.

St. Mary’s went on to win 3-2.

We’ll have the full story up in the Voice next week on Thursday May 26. We cover the county.
